Light-Painted Photography

Sacred Places Series
Figurative Work

My technique of night-time light-painted photography—walking about unseen in front of the camera during lengthy time exposures, gradually revealing the subject and supporting objects cloaked in darkness—elevates and heightens the sensation of depth for stereo viewing.

Portable battery-powered hand-held lights plus the natural illumination provided by the moon, stars, and night sky are the only sources of illumination. Electronic flash is never used.

Like a ritual dance, my choreography in these places of power feels like a sacred act, a spiritual experience.

Please follow my blog for a complete and detailed explanation of “stereo light-painting.”
